i have serached in the forum but i have found similar post with this error but caused by other problems, then i need your help..
i have a problem using joomla 2.5 and k2.5.x
My website worked fine until i have done a transfer from a remote hosting to another remote hosting.
PS:The webfarm of each remote hosting is the same, and of course also the services, the same LAMP server, etc...
Now the website have this problem: when i try to create a new item or category, or i try to modify o delete a category or an item, the result is this error: the error 500.
The rest of the website is working fine.
I don't know which is the problem.. please help me guys.

finally i have solved the problem.
There were a problem in configuration.php, because during the transfer i have wrong the folder of the parameters log and tmp.
If you have the same problem you can solve it creating a php file with this instructions:

//Gets the document root
$root = getenv("DOCUMENT_ROOT") ;
Echo $root;
?>

upload in your root throught FTP and load the file in the browser.
The result is the correct folder for tmp and log parameter of the file configuration.php

I wish that this post can help other guys with the same problem ;)

You should try akeeba back up and its kickstart.php for transfering sites....nicholas does the work for you
