The K2 plugin for sh404SEF is missing the possibility to customize the way categories are showing when they are displayed on their own. If you do not understand what I mean, take a look at the settings in sh404SEF under "Extension configuration" on the "Joomla" tab. There you have a setting called

Show cat. in categories links

The options are

Top one only
Last one only
Top two
Last 2
All nested categories

This enables you to choose how categories should be displayed.

Actually, I think we should be able to do this on a category by category basis. K2 should have the best options in the Joomla world for optimizing URL'S! :cheer:

Seriously - I really want to replace every single bit of com_content with K2. But to do so, we need a bit more powerful plugin for sh404SEF. Here is what you can do:

Add the missing bits that the com_content plugin has and not the K2 plugin. Then make settings available on a category basis - the same way that you can change picture sizes both generally and per category.

This would take K2 a big jump forward. One example is that com_content can have uncategorized articles, and they can then be listed without a category in the URL. While all others can have one category or subcategory in the URL. This is currently impossible with K2 unless you edit single URL's manually.
