core-style archive capability was created by Brian Shaughnessy
does anyone have recommendations for handling archived content in K2 similar to how core joomla handles it -- where the archive designation is basically a publishing-state option?

we need to be able to manually archive content so that they are removed from the prominent places on the site, and can then be accessed through a searchable tool -- as is the standard behavior in core joomla.

Hi. K2 does not support archived items. You can use the featured flag instead.

That potentially works -- but is tricky.
I use the featured flag already, but they are typically from a single category. So in theory, I could expose that category and hide the featured articles -- which effectively displays only the archived ones.

However -- when you create a menu item for a single category listing, it forces you to use the settings found in the category. That means I can't create one page that uses featured items from that category, and a second that suppresses those.

Any workaround?
