K2 cannot find the tables in the db

K2 cannot find the tables in the db was created by Karan
Hello

I just installed k2 v2.6.1 on joomla 2.5. It says installed successfully, but when I try to create any categories or items it says that "TableK@Category: store failed Table 'dbname.jos_k2_categories doesn't exist"

Any advice is much appreciated.

Done that.

IT says installing successful but with an error that says

Jinstaller: Install Cannot find XML setup file.

have you tried installing other extensons, which create their own tables with success?

I assume that you have the latest download from this site and have not changed the file in any way
Be sure that you are using the latest version of j2.5
If you are on a live server try getting admin tools core www.akeebabackup.com/downloads/admin-tools/admintools-2-4-1.html
and using it to "fix permissions" to default (just in case something is out of wack and the file is not getting uploaded)

Solved.
The problem was installation was not completely deleting the K2 folders on in component and other one in administrator->components. Deleted the folders and reinstalled again.
It's working fine now.

There is probably a permission problem on your site as when you update compontnts they are overwritten, it would still be good to check and be sure your permissions are correct
