Where can I find the settings to remove some of the items that appear in the pages of individual articles? Something like the opportunity to vote on the article, etc. ...

Some k2 settings can be site wide or default for every category. Find those in the options at the top right
Categories each have their own set of settings. Go to the category in question and look to the category, item view in category listings, and item views
