I find K2 overall a great component. But it is lacking some functionalities.
It is great that it has extra fields... but the issue is, can this fields be validated? For example, can certain fields be required or can validate an email?
Does anybody have any solution for that? Even though it needs hard coding.

If there isn't any solution to it, please do tell me so. And if it isn't I kindly recommend to K2 developers to implement this functionality. This and assigning item (entry/article) to several categories. If they do that, the K2 component will become just about perfect.

Hi. Unfortunately extra fields validation is not available. Regarding the multiple categories you can use a plugin like this getk2.org/extend/extensions/date/item/942-k2-additional-categories

Unfortunately, I am building my site in J3.0, so I will have to wait for a little while so that the component will, hopefully, created for this version of Joomla!. :)
