Problem when adding front end article was created by danionic
Hi there,
i run a webzine/community site which uses both k2 (v.2.6) and jomsocial.
Ive recently made updates to the site to allow the zine authors to publish articles from the front end of the website.
However i encounter a problem in both google chrome and internet explorer 9 (this doesnt seem to happen in firefox however). Authors can log in fine, and get the popup window when they click on the 'add article' link. However, when save is clicked, the popup reverts to the homepage of the website, with an added hash symbol (ie, upon clicking save, it reverts to www.homepage.com/#), and no article is added.
any help or advice that you may be able to provide regarding this would be greatly appreciated
regards
Dan

Check the k2 paramaters in the layout tab and set the javascrip library to an earlier version to see if that helps.

HI William,
thanks for the reply.
Ive tried to set the jquery to earlier versions as suggested. After doing this, the articles do seem to save to the database, but upon clicking save in the frontend article popup, i now receive this error message:
Fatal error: Call to a member function getSearchValue() on a non-object in /home/sites/rawnervezine.co.uk/public_html/administrator/components/com_k2/models/item.php on line 721
This seems to be related to the article attempting to fetch the extra fields that have been setup on various categories within k2?
thanks for the reply.
