Hi. You also need to be a K2 user. You need to be assigned to a K2 user group with the appropriate permissions.

same issue with 2.6.2 and J3.02

I am logged in as superadmin, I created an "author" group with all permissions and put the super user into that group. Logged out and then in again and still get 403

Did you solve this ?
Same pb : I am logged in Front-end as a Super User. This super User is in K2 Group Site Owner with all permissions to add/edit/... for all categories.
From the back-end : ADD/EDIT ==> no problem.
From the Front-end : to ADD a new item : no problem.
But from the Front-end to EDIT an item ==> Error 403
Any idea ?

Using Joomla 2.5.9 + K2 2.6.5

Same problem as well : I am logged in Front-end as a Super User. This Super User is in K2 Group "Site Owner" with all allowed permissions for add/edit/...etc .

From the Back-end : ADD/EDIT ==> no problem.
From the Front-end : to ADD a new item : no problem.
But from the Front-end to EDIT an item ==> Error 403

Using Joomla! 3.0.3 + K2 2.6.5

Found it (at least for myself)
in the Parameters settings of K2 in Advanced ==> in the Advanced SEF parameters
if I set K2_SEF_USE_ITEM_ID_IN_URL on NO, then Front-end editing doesn't work anymore
If I set it on YES ==> working again !!!
Took me hours to find it
Hope it helps you too

Thank you Bertrand!!!! This also worked for me. You may want to report this as a bug.
