what version of Joomla and k2 are you using?
Do you have any other k2 components installed?

We had installed plugin : System - SubmitMailer PRO which is sending updates if any article has changed.

Hello Frank, you need to address the issue to the extension developer since the issue is coming from that extension. K2 does not have a mail notification system.
