i have been searching but can not find how to achieve this. I want users to add items from the front end and on the additional fields i would like to have the first option as "Please Select" to get them to push the drop down and select the correct additional field.

but if there is not a additional field that corresspond to the item, they should leave it at Please select - but then the additional field must be blank - at the moment if i make the first option Please select, the additional field gets populated with "Please Select" as the value - could you please assist with this?
