On my pages where I use K2 there is no edit button when I log in on the front page. I use Rockettheme Quasar on these pages. Is there a solution for this that a noob like myself can grasp?

Well, found the answer myself over att Template monster. Had totally missed out on the part that you had to create a separate K2 user group with right permissions to enable front page editing. Works fine now with the RT Afterburner theme. Here´s the instruction on Template monster. Maybe it can help others too.
