I've looked around a bit, but I'm a bit overwhelmed. :)

So before I got into learning K2 (I'm new to Joomla even!) I thought I'd ask a few questions just to make sure K2 is what I'm needing.

First off, I want to have an area on the website for displaying pictures. Each folder of pictures will have different rights. For instance the Family folder would only let users who are family view them, etc. I'm assuming I could even do this with just Joomla. But I also need the ability for users to upload, comment, create folders, etc. Something like Joom Gallery that I've been looking for. Would this all be doable with K2?

2nd is there a way to display these picture on the home page as a slideshow, but taking into account who the user is so they don't see pictures they shouldn't.
