I'm working on a website built with k2 (first time using k2)

the website has a news section that lists articles from that category and it has a sidebar with some modules

I created a new module on home page that pulls content from a category named Blog using a k2_content module. When I click a link to one of these articles from the home page I'm sent to the article page but it's full width! It's basically ignoring the whole sidebar area/its modules

Sure it's something easy but being new to k2 and to joomla as well I don't really know what this could be due to

Any clue on how to have those modules show up on this specific k2 category articles as well? basically I want the articles from the k2 Blog category to be displayed exactly as the ones in the K2 news category

Check the module assignments for the ones that are disappearing. If you need further refinement of where modules display try Advanced Module Manager from Nonumber.nl. The pro version support k2 very well
