I'm having trouble creating a list of items using a "Menu Item Type" of "tag".

When I do this, I can't get my site to list all items with the selected tag. Instead, the menu links to a page that publishes every item in its entirety.

What I want is the equivalent of a category list, with just a linked title for each item.

Is there a way to set up a "Menu Item Type" or "Tag" to do this?

Sorry if this is a basic question and I am just being dense.
