IMHO, a cat listing with "featured items only" should keep the "ordering" from backend. The same ordering that a full list of all items has. Please, try to setup two listings: 1. all articles, 2. only featured articles

A sample setup of project names and their backend order, * marks featured items:
1. project-A *
2. project-B
3. project-C *
4. project-D
5. project-E *

I guess, a menuitem with "show featured items only", should display:
1. project-A *
3. project-C *
5. project-E *

But it has a total different ordering?! The actual ordering has no reason, IMHO. It is neither standard by ID, nor by any other known backend order. I could not find the resulting order in backend.

5. project-E *
1. project-A *
3. project-C *


Also the "reverse ordering" has a wrong output. It is even not the reverse order of my previous "ordering" result. It is different!?

Tested with K2 2.6.5 , Joomla 2.5.9


BTW, all other sorting options seem to work fine with "featured items only".
I tried them in category params, and in menuitem parameters.
Already posted an Issue on google code.

SOLVED! Shame on me... :oops: :blush: :whistle:

The tiny crucial part is to FILTER the article list by "featured" first. AFTER THAT, you get the correct order column displayed! IMHO, a bit hidden and easily overlooked!

If you use the special "K2 quick icon" to enter the article manager... this extra action is already done for you. Than it is way more obvious. Although no optimal.
