Hi,

I read this article:
Enable category ancestors routing:
getk2.org/documentation/tips-a-tricks/873-enable-category-ancestors-routing

Is it possible to get to know, what exactly has to be done to get the "ancestor routing" working?

When I compare my current itemlist.php with the one to be downloaded from this article, there seem to be too many differences. The version is also not the same. I guess the article is older than my itemlist.php etc, but I would try to hack the solution into the current ones.

This is what I see when comparing itemlist.php:
pastebin.com/diff.php?i=qEDU5VXz

I sort some items into a sub-category, and have the user look at a list of all items. Items from the parent category as well as from all sub-categories. The settings allow me to "include sub-categories". Now, when the user sees the list, and clicks on an item that is in a sub-category, he does not see it reflected in the menu, nor in the URL. He sees mysite.com/item/id-name, no correct menu.

I would like the item seem belonging to the parent category, or just belonging to the category it was sorted in. "Seeming" meaning the menu and the URL reflect it.

Is that possible at all? Either by hacking it in or any other way?

thank you in advance
