How to add images for Previous and Next items?

How to add images for Previous and Next items? was created by Ruslan
I want to get images from items for previous and next ones instead of just titles.

I've tried already adding, but it seems to get wrong md5 and always the same for any item.
<img src="<?php echo JURI::root().'media/k2/items/cache/'.md5("Image".$previousItem->id).'_XS.jpg'; ?>

Any ideas?
