K2 and Joomla ACL was created by Douglas Reid
I have a site with a mixture of Joomla articles and K2 items.

I wish to set up a user group that can create, delete and edit K2 items in all categories, but cannot edit the settings on the categories themselves, or delete or create new categories.

The Joomla ACL model seems to be all or nothing with K2, with the Joomla style category level permissions missing in K2 categories.

How can I allow my user to edit, create, delete items while not permitting them to change the configuration of K2 categories in the backend administration interface?

Many Thanks,

Dougie

First thought, use front end editing, specify the access in the k2 user groups, and edit the front end editing forms to exclude or simply hide what you do not what them to see

Thank you for the reply William.

They need some backend functionality occasionally, so I need to give them access to the admin area.

Simply I want them to be able to edit items, but not to edit categories. Is this possible in K2?

Many Thanks.
