I have an active Joomla 2.5.9 with JomSocial 2.8.3. The site has thousands of active users. I installed the latest version of K2: 2.6.5

After doing so most of the users could no longer access the site. When I disabled the K2 user plugin this fixed the problem for those users. Since this affected thousands of users I did not have a lot of time for debugging and in fact just completely uninstalled K2. I have a test server setup and everything seemed fine before I published K2 on the live site. But this issue did not affect me on the test server so I have not been able to duplicate it except on the live server.

My question is, does this scenario make sense in that the K2 User plugin would conflict with JomSocial ? If so, can I just not enable the User plugin or is this required for K2 to function properly?
