I have a category ParentCategory
I have around 200 subcategories under that:
Sub1
Sub2
Sub3
etc.

Each of the subcategories has 3 items.

ParentCategory is published as a menu item but not its subcategories.

If one of the items in the subcategories is opened from anywhere except from the ParentCategory menu entry, it is displayed as an "orphaned" K2 item (since its category is not published as a menu item).

Is there a way for such an orphaned K2 item to always be displayed under the ParentCategory menu entry? WITHOUT manually adding a menu item for every subcategory?

Strangely, I'm actually having problems with this solution (it used to work); all of a sudden orphan items remain orphan items, no matter if I publish a menu item linking to all categories! Very strange... Any ideas? I don't remember what I changed when it stopped working

Just in case someone else is having this issue, it was resolved by updating to Joomla 2.5.9
