Stop sub/child catergory items being displayed was created by Susan Bowen
Hi,
I'm using Joomla! 3.0.3 with K2 v2.6.6
When adding a new menu item - K2 category, I select a single category on the advanced tab.
Select ‘No’ for “Fetch items from children categories”
Then Save.
When I return to check the setting in the Advanced tab, the "Fetch items from children categories" has changed to Yes.
Resulting in the display of all items from the sub/child categories
Any suggestion on how I stop sub/child catergory items being displayed?
Cheers

Hi. When you select a single category the menu options are ignored ( that's why they get disabled ) and the data is fetched based on the category settings. To enable fetching of items of children categories you need to set the "Catalog mode" setting to "No". This setting can be found at the category edit page.

Thanks for responding, and sorry for not getting back sooner.
I don’t think I explained myself correctly.
I want the sub-categories to be displayed, but not their children (grandchildren) until you click on the Sub-category title and navigate to that sub-category.
Example:
Main Category: Foods
Child Categories: Fruits Vegetables (what I want displayed on Foods page)
Grandchild-Categories: Apples, Oranges, Bananas
Carrot, Beans, Peas
But what’s being displayed is: Fruits, Apples, Oranges, Bananas, Vegetables, Carrots, Beans, Peas
Any suggestions on how or if I can stop the Grandchildren displaying on the ie. Foods page?
Cheers
Sue
