I don't know if it's a template or a K2 issue, but here it is:

I install the template with quickstart with K2,
then removed K2,
updated Joomla,
reinstall K2 ,
then update Joomla to 3.1.1
I use JCE editor

Users in K2 are imported from Joomla users, both sets are superusers...tried it with just Editor priviledge...didn't work so made users superusers.

When logged into frontend...can edit items, but CANNOT add NEW items...

Don't know if it's a Joomla issue, or template issue or K2 issue...

Please advise how to debug & fix...

Also, if too hard to fix...is there some extension to allow for fronted editing: adding new articles/items & editing/deleting new articles/items...

tried disabling SEF URL in Global configuration...didn't help

have you set up user group permissions within K2? (completely separate from joomla's) and do you have either a Item edit form menu link, or a visible K2 User module?

try go to this page on you site:

/index.php?option=com_k2&view=item&task=add&tmpl=component

if it works, then your setup for it, and probably just don't have a link to it yet

Hello Thung Rac,

You have to enable front end editing from K2's parameters. (There is a separate tab for this one)
Then you have to set according privileges to your K2 User Groups (not your Joomla!'s groups).
