canonical url

I'm using:
K2 2.6.6
Joomla 3.1.1
Filter For K2 1.3.3 (styleware.eu/store/item/52-filter-for-k2)
Link: plx3.fusionnetwork.net/produse-naturale-originale/ginkgophyt
I have noticed that canonical url for items is nor right. It has twice the item alias. I have tried with "Enable advanced SEF for K2 URLs" on or off and no change.
Any ideas why?
Thanks
Regards,
Cosmin

K2 does not generate the canonical tag, there must another extension generating this tag.

Canonical url is generated by joomla 3.
I have tried on another test site of mine and the same issue appears
3.fusionnetwork.net/k2-test-category/item/1-test-item-1
I don't know where is the bug... Joomla or K2
Thanks

Response from Joomla issue tracker
"You are describing a problem in K2 and not Joomla so you should really speak to the makers of K2 about this. getk2.org"
Please check this issue.

I've tested on a fresh install Joomla! 3.1.1 and K2 2.6.6 and results in the same issue. Canonical url for k2 items is not correct. It duplicates the item id and alias at the end of the url.
Considering that canonical tag can do a lot of good but also a lot of damage to a site if it is not used properly, I think is a high priority issue.
Thanks

developers.facebook.com/tools/debug
Debug show canonical url with only one alias, link at bottom (source view in debug) shows 2 aliases in canonical url.
Is it normal behavior ? How will Google index those URLs with double canonical aliases ?

Mismatch og:url and canonical url: og:url tag in the header is not the same URL as rel='canonical' link in the html.

Is there any solution for this issue? without properly working canonical it's quite unreliable to use it for seo stuff....

I read other posts about avoiding duplicate menu items or sub categories but I don't have any of that. I just have one menu item called blog that points to one category and still articles in that category have canonical links with duplicate aliases. Also tried upgrading to the latest and using the advanced sef parameter to on. That didn't help.
Anyone have any ideas on how to fix without buying a separate plugin to mask the problem.
