404 item links after server migration with Akeeba

Hello,

I´ve searched the forum and tried all the solutions I found, but I couldn´t solve my problem:

After a migration of server using Akeeba, all the menu links to K2 items return a 404. The menu items worked ok in the previous server, and in fact all the other menu links (joomla articles, etc.) work ok.

I´ve tried these solutions, with no success:

- Stablish live_site variable (in previous server was empty).
- Create new K2 category, item, and menu link to the item: the menu links returns also 404.
- "Recosntruct menu": the site uses Joomla 1.5 and this is only for 2.5 and up (I think).
- Use default htaccess.

I´m dry of ideas does now! Does anyone have some thoughts on this that could share?

Thanks in advance!
Ro.

Hello Ro,

Do you have any SEO/SEF extensions installed?

Are you using the latest version of K2? , you can always try reinstalling the latest version.
1.5.26 is compatible with K2 v.2.6.6

Try setting up a new category and a new menu item after you have reinstalled K2. If nothing works then you might have to setup your filesystem again. ( Maybe some files are corrupt )

PS. I am assuming you already have a backup before trying anything.

Hello Krikor,

thank you very much for your post.

We don´t have any SEO/SEF component, although we´re using Joomfish.

We don´t have the latest version of K2, because the site was developed some time ago and there was some customization, so we are afraid that the upgrade could 'break' the site. As the site was working Ok in the previous server, we are trying to leave the upgrade solution as the last resource because it may mean a lot of work.

When you say setup your filesystem again do you mean re-installing Joomla?

Thanks again!
Ro.

Yes, I meant reinstalling Joomla! and K2 once more in case some file was corrupted.

As long you have not hacked the core or using any version specific extensions you can try upgrading, the only work you might need is to upgrade your templates. Grab a new version of K2 and compare you templates, you will probably only have to change the user forms.
