I'm using K2 2.6.5 on a Joomla 2.5.7 website and I have a strange behavior on the Order field of my items.

When I edit an existing item and publish it, the order value of this item changes to an already existing number (mostly the next one) and I don't know why and how to prevent it.

I'm not sure that I'm very clear, so here is an example :

In my "Event" category, I have 20 items ordered from 1 to 20 (they all are online).
When I edit the item with the order value 13, this value becomes 14 (the item with the value 14 still exists so i get 2 items with order 14 and none with order 13).

Any idea how I can fix it ?

Hello Cedric,

There is a setting for this, but by default it's disabled by default for better performance.

On the advanced tabs of K2 params you need to set Disable ordering compacting to yes.
Please note that if you have a large amount of articles (several hundred or thousands) this might affect your performance.

PS. You should backup and upgrade to 2.5.11 asap for security reasons.
