I have been using tags like $4.99.
However, it appears that since the latest K2 upgrade, if I add the tag containing a decimal point to a k2 item, a new tag is created without a decimal point, and the item is tagged with the wrong item.

Please see e.g. this page: www.cottagecarpets.ca/tag/cad-4-to-4.99.html. The tags that were added to k2 items before are working. But if there is a new item I need to tag with CAD 4 to 4.99 per sq, as I try to tag the item a new, CAD 4 to 499 per sqft tag is created and that is the tag the given k2 item gets tagged with.

same experience until i deactivated "tag normalization" (options > enhanced > tag system setting).

In my case, tag normalization was off. However, I switched off Free tagging with auto complete, and the problem got resolved for me.

I will enter the findings to the Bug report. In the long run, it would be nice to regain the ability to use the auto complete feature.
