url rewriting K2 2.6.6 was created by David Olsson
Hi guys,

I am using 404 extension included in K2 that's all and have been reading about how to configure on various forums but still get really long url like
domain.com/index.php?option=com_k2&view=item&id=443:paris-new-outright-purchase-apartments-with-superb-views

and what I would like is:
http://domain.com-Paris-new-outright-purchase-apartments-with-superb-views

Maybe id included also but not more.
I have followed all guidelines + joomla is in rewrite in global + .htaccess

Can you help?

you have to turn on joomla's SEF for it to work, K2 rewrites the urls even more so

then within K2's "Advanced SEF Settings" have everything but "Use the item title alias" set to no

i like to modify things, and make them do unintended things

Thanks Eric,

I had done that. Here is my set up:

Joomla general config:
Search Engine Friendly URLs: yes
Use URL rewriting: yes
All rest set to no

K2 advanced: Advanced sef settings + SHF404 config:
All set to no except "use the item title alias" in advanced sef settings

I get:
www.domain.com/component/k2/item/466-new-property-in-london

but I would like to get
www.domain.com/new-property-in-london
www.domain.com/466-new-property-in-london (with id included as it seems to be good for seo?)

Thanks for your help.

k2 options / enhanced sef

activity ... for k2 urls: yes
prefixes for category, tag, ..: your choice
prefix item url: nothing
custum prefix: empty
rest of section: yes

k2 options / sh404sef integration

prefix for category+ author: your choice
prefix article: no difference, what i use
title alias. yes
feed: your choice
rest: no

thats my options, works in most cases. Not if tag-cloud on frontsite, so i dont use it there.

greetings
Franz

Thanks Franz,

Still get domain.com/component/k2 before itemid and title alias but at least item is gone... Maybe this is the best I can get after all, just wish I could get rid of component/k2 but maybe it is just not possible...

domain.com/component/k2/470-last-2-4-bed-new-chalets-in-saint-daulps-in-morzine-area

Thanks again anyway

You use Menu for your Categorys? Cause .../component/k2... is shown only, if no menu availaible (hidden-menu-Trick dont work in my experience, but you http://getk2.org/blog/1237-k2-v266-released)

Hi Franz,

I am using the component (K2 extra fields) for searching and displaying items so not sure what you mean with "pertaining to menu"...? Anything I do wrong?
