I am still very new to Joomla and K2 so I'm hoping the problem I'm getting is an easy one to solve. I keep getting the same error when I link a k2 category to a menu.

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class K2ModelItemlist in /home/..../components/com_k2/models/itemlist.php on line 1188

What am I doing wrong?

which version of Joomla! and K@ are you using?
Any other frameworks or extensions?

Is your site working with the default template? ( use /?template=system or /?template=atomic a suffix to your URLs).

I have been away from this project for a couple of months but I'm picking it up again. I've installed quite a few extra components but they all seem to be working. The template I bought uses the Gantry framework and I'm using the default k2 template.

This error has appeared again but this time in a different place. I've made a roksprocket mosaic module that loads and displays the items in a chosen category. When I add the module to my website homepage it all works fine. If I add this to a menu I get the Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class K2ModelItemlist in /home/..../components/com_k2/models/itemlist.php on line 1188 again.

I'm using:
Joomla! 3.1.5
K2 2.6.6

Since this is an error caused by the roksprocket module I suggest you let the RocketTheme devs know about this.

Chances are it is intended for an older version of K2.

But the error happened before I even installed roksprocket. I still have the error when I try to attach a category to a menu as in my first post.

The same error happens if I assign a K2 Content module (which is selecting a category) to a menu.

Does this happen when using another template or the system template?

Ah! It works when I change to the theme. I'll get in contact with the dev team of the theme. Thanks for your help.

I spoke too soon. When I refreshed the page I got the same error using protostar.

Right, I have tried several more options and I can tell you the problem only occurs when I'm trying to link a category to a menu item in the 'main menu' which is the menu containing 'home'.

Does this give you any more clues?
