I'm trying to add these K2 Items as seen on the bottom here:

Whenever I add the link, though, i get duplicate breadcrumb URLs.

How do I fix this without creating a separate menu? The purpose of the articles are to showcase projects not seen on the menu.

Hello Scott,

If you want to strip all prefixes from these K2 items (and have them act like static pages) you need to setup a hidden menu and assign menu items to them.

No need to show that menu in a module, you just need it to have cleaner URL.

You may choose to use K2's advanced SEF or an SEO component like sh404sef but keep on mind that any changes will affect all of your items and not these particular ones only.

If I want to have a similar path to the menu, should I just remove the spaces in the alias, so it looks like Coremarkets, instead of core-markets? Or can you have duplicate alias's?

I am terribly sorry I confused URLs with your URL structure when you meant items.

As for your module, disable its cache, this will solve a lot of issues.
I think the problem lies with your menu and cateogories structure.

You have a parent menu item called core-markets which is an item and then you have a child menu item that belongs to a core-markets category.

You are not getting duplicate items. They just have the same name. One is a menu item (the K2 item) and the other one is the item's category (second instance).

K2 Tools by default includes your category structure as well (hence the second core-markets).
If you a want a path that is strictly identical to your menu structure you should use Joomla! 's breadcrumbs.
