A have category and don't have item menu for this category.

I set sort option



But all latest articles displays in the end of list.

I tried any sort options random, alphabet e.t.c - but no result, latest articles displays in the end of list.

But when I created hidden item menu and set sort option - it works fine...



Of cource, I don't want to create menu items for each category, I have 90 categories.

Whats going on? Is it a bug?

If you have a menu towards multiple K2 categories you need to define Layout options for multiple category selection as well. That menu type will override a single category's settings.

Furthermore make sure your menu inheritance is ok.
Example If a K2 category has a parent category which in its turn corresponds to a menu item, then the items will be probably routed through the parent menu item and inherit its settings.

But all latest articles displays in the end of list.

If your content was not generated from a CMS migration ( newest items/ larger IDs should be on top by default), then some menu item (probably one with no or all category/categories selected) is causing this.

Do you have an empty menu item or a menu item towards ALL or most of the categories?

It considered a good practise however to map all your categories in menus. (module flexibility etc,)

Parent category MUST have a menu item, otherwise in a child categories sorting does not work...
