I'm pretty sure this has been addressed before but I haven't been able to find an answer. I see that you can change the item image width by changing the settings for the category but I am looking to change the height of the image as well.

Someone had posted this code on a forum .itemImageBlock {height: 250px; overflow: hidden}

He said to add it to override.css and he said to enable this file in the template parameters.

Unfortunately, this was the closest solution I have found to this question however I could not follow him 100% (not so knowledgeable). I found an override.css file in the Media folder and added that line of code. I could not figure out what he meant by "Template Parameters".

Any help would be kindly appreciated. Or perhaps there is a better method. Thank you in advance.

Unfortunately, the post you found was specific to that template only.
You need to put this snippet in your template's k2.css.
