Is there a good way to swap out the standard joomla admin menu? The one that runs along to top of the page?

I want to make it much harder for people to accidentally create an 'article' instead of a K2 'item'

i have come across this extension, but it doesn't work for me - I get a 'fatal error': extensions.joomla.org/extensions/administration/admin-navigation/17139

Any ideas?

Hello Owen,

No need to edit the menu or install an extension.
You simply need to alter the persmissions of the com_content component. You can go to Article Manager -> Options and then deny access for the user groups ou don't want accessing it.
