It does indeed help, but when following the upgrade steps, the following error is received, in Joomla 3.0:
I installed the update through the extension installer instead and that upgraded it fine, though.
The update fails. I post this to just give a heads up.Invalid extension update

It's fixed now. Make sure you hit "Find updates" again to refresh the K2 update file from our server.
The problem occured because there was no Joomla! 3.1 specific definition in the XML update file on our server - we had update blocks for Joomla! 2.5 and 3.0. All sorted now.
