Let's say I'm adding or editing a K2 item. When I go to select the Category, let's say the category I want hasn't been created yet.

Is there a way to create a new category without having to back out of the Edit Item screen and go to the Categories section?

That seems like a few wasted steps. Is there an extension where you can create a new category in the Edit Item screen?

This cannot be done (adding the category on the fly). I have never heard of such an extension but you can look at the extend K2 section of this site or at the JED.

This would be a good feature to add to K2. Zoho Creator has an option where you can turn on an Add New Category option.
