Can a user without "Publish items" permissions edit an article that is already published?

Here's my scenario:
1.) A user, with permission to "add items" and "edit own items" but not "publish items," adds a blog article.
2.) An admin approves the content and publishes the article
3.) Now that the article is published, can that user go back and edit the published article and add unapproved content?

If the answer is yes, is there any way to prevent this from happening? The goal is to keep any user from putting unapproved content on the site in any way.

Hello Drew,

You need to update to K2's latest version (currently 2.6.7) and set Allow editing of already published items to no. (K2 User Group settings)
