Unable to browse to existing attachments was created by Jamie Robinson-Woledge
Hi,

I am using K2 for a IT Distributor and am in the process of attaching .pds to each product. However if I want to link to an existing .pdf that is shared for more than 1 product I am unable to do so as I cannot browse out of the images directory. K2 by default stores attachments in the media folder of Joomla. This seems to be a bit of an oversight.

I can of course just re-upload the pdf's for each product but that is not very elegant as I will end up with multiple copies of each pdf with a slightly different filename.

Any idea on how to resolve?

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

You need to use K2's media manager and upload all of your .pdf files in a folder.
Then in evey K2 item instead of reuploading pdf's you simply select the browse server option and select any .pdf from that folder.

Thanks Krikor, its a shame Simple Image Gallery Pro doesn't let you browse the server for existing images... any plans to add this as a feature?

If they are located on the images folder by default you can browse them using the media manager. You can also set your own root folder through it's settings of if your host allows you to (I think) you can use a symlink.

You can browse them using the media manage but that's all you can do. You cant add them to either a new or existing gallery. :(

I'm running v3.0.1 and unless I'm being very thick you cant select images that already reside on the server... if you can perhaps you'd be so kind to show me how.

Thanks in advance.

This is the wrong forum (you should use the JoomlaWorks ticketing system) but it's ok.

You should read the documentation at www.joomlaworks.net/extensions/commercial-premium/simple-image-gallery-pro ,

Also look at the image gallery and locate the media manager screenshot. All the actions are located at the toolbar of the media manager.
