I would like to support use of animated GIFs as article images and thumbnails. GD doesn't support doing so (without a lot of wrangling), but ImageMagick does. Is there a way to switch to ImageMagick in K2 in order to support animated GIF resizing?

If not, could the option be considered for a future release?

I am sorry but K2 supports GD. For version 3.0 we will consider it.

If the developers have any use for additional votes of confidence, I also have strong need for an ImageMagick option, for the same reasons. I need animated gif support within article images & thumbnails

If it's not 'in the cards' for 3.0, is anyone aware of a modification to K2 to direct K2 to use ImageMagick instead of GD?
