how exactly to use K2.css? was created by Piotr
I installed Joomla and K2, browsed some docs and forums and correctly created a copy of com_k2 template so that I can use my own K2-based template when creating a new K2 category. However, from what I can see I do not currently use K2.css at all. I copied the K2.css file to all possible subfolders under /templates..., changed its name to mytemplate_style.css, but my main page is still showing the standard Joomla banner (joomla_black.gif), which is telling me that I'm using standard Joomla css instead of K2 one.
How should I do exactly, step-by-step, to make use of K2.css?

The correct template override to put k2.css is templates/yourtemplate/css/k2.css
You can then change the css properties for K2 and it will not be overwritten when you upgrade k2 to a newer version.

This is one of the folders where I obviously put the file into, but just putting it over there didn't seem to change anything. I imagine there is something else that should be done after the file is put in that directory.
Also, what do you mean exactly by "You can then change the css properties for K2"?
Thanks,
Piotr

As far as i know, after you put the k2.css file in the templates css folder. You need to copy the folder fugue & system from com_k2/images to your template/images folder. It's for the rss feed and star rating icons.
K2 will load the css from this new location instead of the one in com_k2/css/k2.css
Yes, by putting the same k2.css file inside the templates/css folder will not change anything. You need to change the css properties. like changing the itemListCategory background color to some other color.
Is there a link to your site?

Thanks, I'll try this. The link is pyszotka.com/ (it's just a very basic beginning, nothing is custom at the moment).

You're welcome. Its correct - K2 is loading css from /templates/beez_20/css/k2.css
You just need to change the css properties to make changes.

One more question then: I was not aware of the fact that I'm using stylsheets from beez_20 folder. What is the convention for K2 use: modify stylsheets inside beez_20, or somehow point K2 to another folder?

You can change the css file in /templates/beez_20/css/k2.css
Try changing the css properties to meet your desired display.

OK, I'm lost again! The main page displays the joomla_black.gif at the top. I searched all the files in my public_html and no file has "joomla_black.gif" string inside. But the page source has it. I don't know how Joomla/K2 knows about this file then. Please advise, this is frustrating.

That joomla_black.gif is the logo file in your joomla installation dir / images folder but what does this has to do with k2?
