Image Handling Workfllow was created by Stuart Claggett
I am currently creating some K2 items where the main content element is a basic picture. I added an image through the image tab but I am not sure where it is. I don't see it in the media manager. What is the best workflow. I need to add images that are available from K2 and other Joomla components. Eventually these will come from S3 via a folder sync to a bucket.

Also, regarding extra fields. I only see an options to show all or hide all. Is there anyway to just select which fields to show.

Finally, is there a way to show EXIF data?

Thanks in advance for the assistance as we want to get this right early on.

If you select Browse from the image tab, then all images are stored in root/media/k2 folder, you can also upload image using the media manager by selecting browse from the server.

As for the extra fields, if you don't type any value then it will not show in the frontend.

Exif data - Exchangeable image file format ? there are some extensions in JED that does that for galleries.

Thanks for the response. That answers my main questions. I only wish I could control what extra fields are shown. I want data in the field but I don't want it shown for every article. If extra fields could belong to more than one group it would not be a problem.

That looks promising for adding additional groups to items.

Not sure if it still allows you to control what items are shown.

Also do you know if this plugin modifies the core thus creating upgrade problems for K2 or Joomla?

Hello Stuart,

You can render specific extrafields in your template. (I think that answers your question)
And you can use different markup for each one.

Here 's a snippet that will help you get going.
