I want to hide category name and item it from URL.

It's shown like:
www.example.org/newsroom/news/item/966-ItemAlias

I want it to be like :

www.example.org/966-ItemAlias

In all categories

How i can do it?

But what i have to do ?

I changed the (sh404SEF URL category prefix for items) to No categories

But i didn't find any changes! the URLs still same. :(

oh, i see, you dont want any cat or menu-name in your url. Sorry, my fault. btw: whats the goal to hide cat&menu?

The goals are:

1) if i change article category to other category, I don't want the change of URL, still same.
Now when i change the category of any item, the URL change.

2) The URL is so long, I want just website address and item Alias.

After changing the settings in k2, you have to purge the ulr cache in sh404sef to see the changes. After purging, the sef-urls will be generated from new again with new settings.

But you have to know, if you do changes to the url-structure on a already performing (maybe big) website, google webmaster tools and others will firstly identify a lot of duplicate urls and you will have to work with a lot of 404-Requests, especially in sh404sef you will have to make redirections on a daily base ;-)

as michael says: each chance of cat-names makes a lot of 404-work. but: clear names of cat-structure helps users. thats the reason of my question.
