i added a new template to templates\mytemplate\html\com_k2\newtemplate so i want to create a new css for "newtemplate" template to avoid conflict with k2.css

You can override k2.css or if you want to use new stylesheets to your template you can use Joomla!'s API docs.joomla.org/JDocument/addStyleSheet

So i should make a separate style sheet for every k2 template right ?

Actually lesser stylesheets mean a quicker site so I would just override k2.css
