I'm creating articles to be published in the future. I'm scheduling emails to come out soon after the items are published. I need to have links in the emails to those items.

Is there a way of finding the full item URL before it is published?

It depends on which SEF extension using.

If you are using only joomla core SEF, then copy the url of a published item in the same category and replace the last part with the item alias of the unpublished item.
