I am using the the Joomla Menu Item to display the content from two K2 categories in a K2 Category view page.

I am also using a Custom HTML module to introduce some text at the top of this Category view page, using the 'above-content' module position. (This is because when using multiple categories the displaying the 'Category description' field does not seem to work)

I am targeting this module to show only in the specific K2 Category Menu Item:

However, I am encountering a display error:

When I click on an Item to view it, and then go back to the main Category view page - the Custom HTML module content is duplicated on the page:

This only happens when I use the BREADCRUMBS to navigate back.

If I use the browser back button there is no error.

Is this because the Menu Item is set to display content from 2 Categories that the breadcrumb is duplicating this Custom HTML module?

It is strange as I also have a K2 Content Module targeted in the same way but it is NOT being duplicated.

Any ideas on this strange breadcrumb behaviour?

This is not the module duplicating. The second text comes from the category description.

You are right the same content was also in the Category description.

I think the reason why it is happening is a breadcrumb configuration error because they are not rendering accurately - i.e. they are not reflecting the correct path to item.

So, by clicking the breadcrumb we are landing in a Category view for ONE category + My Custom HTML. (Hence duplication of content)

Whereas, if it worked correctly we would land in a Category view with TWO Categories and only my Custom HTML would show!

Anyway, I wrote down all that down as it may help people in the future.
