I would like to know if there is a theoretical limit on the maximum number of items stored in K2 ?
I have currently around 100 000 items and 1000 categories. it should grow around 500 000 items and 1200 categories. My worry is more regarding images as they are stored in one single directory.

From a performance point of view, all ideas are welcome

The site is already running on a dedicated server with 64Gb of Ram and 8 cores cpu.

Hello,

With that server I don't think you will run into any issues provided

a) You have correctly set up your server
b) You don't have the traffic of Google
c) Your template and your other components are well written.

I have personally seen site with half a million items and a dozen authors working with no problem.

It is all in the server setup and the infastructure.
