I have created an extra field for and email address.

I want to output this field with the email cloaked.

can someone give me an idea how I can easily do this, I am new to K2.

Any help would be really appreciated.

There is a Joomla! email cloacking plugin. you should make sure it is enabled.

Yes it is a Link field and the Joomla plug in is enabled.

I can get it to work in a way but i have to add "mailto:" to the address which opens the email software but also opens a brower.

You can set the mailto: prefix as predefined/ default text for that extrafield.
