K2 url issues was created by Carlos
Hello, I'm working on doing a newer version of a site that uses k2 for its catalog of items. Before, if you go the item pages displaying all the content, if you select an item you would get a URL that looked like this:
Now when doing the same i get something more like this:
I'm not sure why I'm getting the "component/k2" i would like the category instead in there i tried several things to no avail, SEF is turned on. the other odd issue with this is that a secondary menu that is supposed to show on all pages doesn't on the item pages. When i use ?tp=1 at the end of the URL, it doesn't even seem like its in any of the assigned modules for the page. Can anyone help me out with this?

You need to map you content (K2 categories) in menu items.

OK, that helped that problem, but now im having anohter with that. now im getting
www.domainurl.com/index.php/k2-category/16-adult-teen-games/402-6213
I dont want the "k2-category" and i keep getting the category ID number despite the fact that i have it turned off.
Any idea what could be happening here? Thanks

You could try to use sh404sef extension and don't forget to apply the appropriate parameters through K2 for it as well.

I would rather not have to buy anymore software. Not sure if my boss would approve it.
