I am currently building a joomla3 website with K2. My client wants to display a calendar with upcoming events. Unfortunately, the calendar in the K2 tools module has very limited functionality. It can only be associated with the creation date of items in a certain category. I want the calendar to link to an extra field in an item (the date the event takes place). Is that possible at all? And if not, is there an extension that can do this?

With the default K2 Tools module I am afraid it is not possible. You can try searching for an extension at the JED or the extend K2 section of this site.

I already did that before I submitted the question. It think the calendar functionality of K2 is very limited. It is not logical to only allow the creation date to show an a calendar. As far as I know there are no extensions that do this. I will have to tell my client that it is not possible
