I'm building a site with a blog. On the homepage 3 blogposts are displayed with the option to "read more" (Lees meer in dutch). After clicking on the "Lees meer"-button the user will still be on the homepage. Also, if you go to "Blog" and then click on "Lees meer" here, you will also go to the homepage. Is it possible that the user will be routed to the itemID of the blogpage instead?

I just clicked on the readmore of the link above and didn't go to the homepage. I was redirected to the item page.
Maybe you mean that you still see the same background image as your homepage does?

Thank you for your response! Yes, that's what I meant. I would like that to be another itemID (that of blog in this case). Hope that's possible!

Does your home page menu item link to the same category, Blog?
If it does then you cannot have two different pages which lead to the same category.
One of them should be different.
