Modules showing up in K2 pages was created by Steve Hare
OK, I'm officially confused.

I'm using K2 on a Joomla 2.5 site.

I have several menus and I have assigned different modules to different menus.

Sometimes when I get to a K2 item page my modules show up. Other times they don't.

Here's an example where the modules DO NOT SHOW UP:

www.ohiovarsity.com/index.php/schools/item/944-independence-swimmers-split-with-west-geauga

That k2 item is under the K2 category for Independence swimming. The modules are assigned to all the appropriate menu items.

Here is a page with the modules that should appear:

www.ohiovarsity.com/index.php/independence-swimming

Everything in the right column SHOULD appear on the K2 item page.

Here's a bit more information on the structure of the site:

I have individual menus for schools and sports.

Under schools I list the conference the school belongs to and the individual schools.

Then, when you get to a school page you have menus in the right hand column for the individual sports.

If you click a sport, you get all the stories assigned to that sport.

When you open a story, that sport's individual modules (menus, etc) should appear. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

In K2, I have categories for each school (i.e., Mentor), school sport (Mentor Basketball)and individual sport (Football).

I use K2 additional categories to select multiple categories for each story.

For example, if the story is on Mentor Basketball, I'll choose the following categories:

1. Schools
2. Mentor
3. Mentor Basketball
4. Basketball

So the story will appear on all those pages above.

I use the same structure for every story so I don't know why some work with the modules appearing and some don't.

I am guessing this has to do with the extension you are using for multiple categorisation.

It all depends from which menu your items are being rendered. The extension might be confusing the router.

Finally I saw some /component/k2/id-item links. This means that you haven't mapped all your categories into menu items. If you do that you minimise the risk of having wrong modules inside items.
