search not picking up three letter word was created by Janet McFarlane
Hi there,
I am new to K2. I am building a new website on a test site area.
I am finding that the Inbuilt Joomla search and the KS tool search is not picking up some words that appear in the K2 items.
The items have postcodes included. I have tried putting them into the item itself and also as an extra field. Ideally I thought the extra field would be best.
In the 2 items under 'events coming soon' to be seen on the left side module have two postcodes in them. One is SN8 1RF and the other SN1. If I type these into either search box neither come up?
The search at the top of the page is the Joomla search and the 'Search by postcode' at the footer is the K2 tools search.
test site is here
Any ideas why the search isn't working?
Using Joomla! 3.1.5 and K2 v2.6.7.
Thanks

K2 uses MySQL full-text search which includes stop-words.
You can find the full reference here.
As for the KS tool search, unfortunately I have not used that extension.
You should ask the extension developer for further information.

Hi there,
Sorry mis-typed 'KS tool search' is the built in 'K2 Tools' search module function.
I have looked through the stop-words but of course there is nothing like SN1 or SN8 because these are Postcodes/zip codes?
